The International Competition “Premio Roma Danza”, for its own conscious artistic decision, does not make a distinction, at awarding prizes, between Classical and Contemporary sections.
RULES AND REGULATIONS
Art. 1
The International Competition “PREMIO ROMA DANZA” is organized by the National Academy of Dance.
Art. 2
Both professional and non-professional dancers of all nationalities, aged from 14 to 18 for Juniors category and from 18 to 24 for Seniors category, can participate in the Competition.
Art. 3
The Competition will be held from July 1st to July 5th 2012, according to the following schedule:
July 1 – Juniors participants' registration from 09:00 to 14:00
Juniors preliminary round from 19:00
July 2 – Seniors participants' registration from 09:00 to 14:00
Seniors preliminary round from 19:00
July 3 – Juniors and Seniors semifinal round
July 4 – Juniors and Seniors final round
July 5 – Awarding ceremony and winners' gala concert

The admission fee should be paid not later than June 10th 2012. Only the bank receipt will be accepted as proof of payment. The admission fee is not refundable in any case.
The above mentioned documents should be sent by June 10th 2012, via e-mail or postal mail to the following address. For postal mail, the postmark stamp date will be considered valid.

Participants who decide not to compete are kindly requested to inform the Competition's Secretary about their decision.
Art. 5
Participants should indicate the chosen section, classical or contemporary, in the application form.
Participants in the Classical section should dance either two pas de deux (adagio, variations and coda) or four variations, chosen by themselves from the classical repertoire.
Pas de deux (adagio, variations and coda) or the two variations in the preliminary round must be different from the ones in the semifinal round, while they could be repeated in the final round on participants' choice.
Participants in the Contemporary section should dance two contemporary choreographic pieces, created after January 1st 1990. The pieces in the preliminary round must be different from the ones in the semifinal round, while they could be repeated in the final round on participants' choice.
The maximum duration of the choreography should not exceed 5 minutes. Not more than three other dancers, contestants or non-contestants, are allowed to perform in it.
Variations and choreographic pieces, indicated in the choreography information form for the preliminary and semifinal rounds, cannot be changed. Variations and choreographic pieces, indicated for the final round can be changed by July 4th, 11:00 am.
Variations and choreographic pieces for the gala concert will be established by the National Academy of Dance artistic direction's and TV channel RAI.
Art. 6
Winners in the Seniors category of past “PREMIO ROMA” competitions are not allowed to take part in the contest.
Art. 7
The organization bears no liability for eventual damages of persons or things, caused by participants as well as for accidents, occurred to them. The organization will be holding an insurance policy, covering participants' rehearsals and performances.
Art. 8
When registering, participants are obliged to deliver to the Organizing Committee (July 1st for Juniors, July 2nd for Seniors, both from 09:00 to 14:00) the music records; each piece should be recorded and delivered on two CD, labeled with the name and family name of the participant, title of the choreographic piece and title of the music piece (it will not be possible to burn CDs on site).
Art. 9
Participants should be equipped with costumes, shoes, rehearsal clothing, make-up and what else needed for their performance.
Art. 10
Participants implicitly authorize the Organizing Committee to freely use their image and personal data for promotional and informational purposes. The organizing committee will handle the participants' personal information according to the Italian law about privacy protection and its implementing rules.
Art. 11
Trip, meals and accommodation expenses are on participants' charge.
Both Juniors and Seniors participants admitted to the final round, starting from July 3rd, will receive a gross amount of € 200,00 (two hundred euro) as a flat support.
Art. 12
The Jury and the President are appointed by the National Academy of Dance. Jury’s members will be selected among worldwide renowned personalities of dance. During its work, the Jury will be provided with a Secretary, appointed by the National Academy of Dance. The Jury's work is regulated by specific regulations, laying down its operating procedures. The Jury's decisions are final. The Jury will award the following prizes:
Juniors Category
1st Prize € 3.000,00 (three thousand euro)
2nd Prize € 2.000,00 (two thousand euro)
3rd Prize € 1.000,00 (one thousand euro)
Seniors Category
1st Prize € 6.000,00 (six thousand euro)
2nd Prize € 3.000,00 (three thousand euro)
3rd Prize € 2.000,00 (two thousand euro)
Moreover, the following special prizes will be awarded:
One of the Seniors prize winners will be hired, as guest dancer, by Arena of Verona Foundation.
The award ceremony and the winners gala concert will be broadcasted by RAIUNO TV Channel.
Art. 13
The registration involves the full acceptance of all the competition's rules and regulations and obliges registered competitors to act in compliance with them.
Art. 14
The organizing procedures of National Academy of Dance and the Jury's decisions are final.
Art. 15
In case of disputes, the Italian text and the jurisdiction of the Rome Court of Justice will be the only valid.
