L’Accademia Nazionale di Danza, attualmente guidata dal Commissario Straordinario prof.ssa Giovanna Cassese, presenta la XIV edizione del “Premio Roma Danza 2015” Concorso Internazionale di Coreografia, il prestigioso Premio che si terrà dal 30 giugno al 3 luglio 2015 a Roma, nel meraviglioso Teatro Grande all’aperto, nella sede dell’Accademia Nazionale di Danza.Il “Premio Roma Danza” nato nel 2001 sotto la direzione di Margherita Parrilla, dal 2011 alterna il Concorso dedicato ai danzatori con quello dedicato ai coreografi, due eventi che fanno parte di uno stesso grande progetto dell’Accademia Nazionale di Danza, pensato e dedicato agli interpreti e a coloro che si dedicano alla coreografia.
Quest’anno il “Premio Roma Danza 2015” è intitolato alla Coreografia e si onora della presenza, in qualità di Presidente della Giuria, di Jorma Uotinen, coreografo, danzatore, performer finlandese, direttore artistico del Kuopio Dance Festival.
Un’occasione speciale per valorizzare le eccellenze nel mondo della coreografia, per offrire visibilità ai giovani talenti di tutto il mondo, per la creazione di un “territorio” dove sperimentare possibilità e sviluppare un confronto tra artisti.
Tutto questo nel contesto della suggestiva sede dell’Accademia Nazionale di Danza, in una città come Roma, la cui bellezza e il cui patrimonio artistico e storico non hanno certo bisogno di presentazioni né di descrizioni.
I Presidenti delle Giurie delle passate edizioni dimostrano il valore ed il prestigio di questo Premio: per il Concorso Internazionale di Danza Vladimir Vassiliev, Milorad Miscovitch, Jean Babilee, Ekaterina Maximova, Violette Verdy, Maja Plissetskaja, Julio Bocca, Yuri Grigorovich, Liliana Cosi, Boris Akimov, Carla Fracci. Per le due edizioni del Concorso Internazionale di Coreografia il “Premio Roma Danza” si è avvalso della presenza di Ushio Amagatsu e Susanne Linke.
Il “Premio Roma Danza 2015” Concorso Internazionale di Coreografia è aperto a tutti i coreografi maggiorenni.
La Serata di Premiazione si svolgerà il 3 luglio 2015 nel Teatro Grande all’aperto dell’Accademia Nazionale di Danza.
Il prossimo anno il “Premio Roma Danza 2016” sarà dedicato agli interpreti e potranno partecipare i danzatori, di tutti gli stili e tecniche, nelle sezioni junior e senior.
Presentation
The National Academy of Dance in Rome, at present under the guidance of special commissioner Prof. Giovanna Cassese, presents the Premio Roma Danza 2015 – XIV edition – International Choreographic Competition. This prestigious event will take place between 30 June and 3 July, 2015 at the marvellous open-air Teatro Grande on the grounds of Italy’s National Academy of Dance in Rome.The Premio Roma Danza was inaugurated in 2001, under the direction of Margherita Parrilla, and since 2011, the competition has alternated annually between dancers and choreographers – two events which together comprise one artistic project, conceived and dedicated to celebrate all those who devote themselves to dance and choreography.
This year, the Premio Roma Danza is dedicated to choreography and choreographers. The National Academy od Dance is honored by the presence, as President of the Jury, of Jorma Uotinen, the internationally renowned and award-winning artistic director, choreographer, dancer and performer, presently Artistic Director of Finland’s Kuopio Dance Festival.
The Premio Roma Danza 2015 places special value on excellence in the world of choreography and aims to offer visibility and opportunity to young talents from across the globe and to create a “territory” in which artists can experiment with possibilities and develop through exchange. All this at the home of the National Academy of Dance, a historic and beautiful patrimony, with its suggestive hilltop vistas of the nearby Roman ruins in the Aventino area of Rome – a city which needs no introduction.
Past editions testify to the high artistic value and prestige of this competition, having hosted such dance celebrities as Vladimir Vassiliev, Milorad Miscovitch, Jean Babilee, Ekaterina Maximova, Violette Verdy, Maja Plissetskaja, Julio Bocca, Yuri Grigorovich, Liliana Cosi, Boris Akimov and Carla Fracci, as Presidents of the Jury for the edition dedicated to dancers, and Ushio Amagatsu and Susanne Linke as Jury Presidents in 2011 and 2013 for the edition dedicated to choreography.
The Premio Roma Danza 2015 – XIV edition – International Choreographic Competition is open to all choreographers ages 18 and over.
The Semi-finals will begin on 30 June, and final results will be announced at the Gala Evening performance on 3 July, which will take place on the stage of the National Academy of dance’s outdoor theatre, the Teatro Grande.
The next edition of the Premio Roma Danza, in 2016, will be dedicated to dancers and performers and will be open to competitors in all styles and techniques in both junior and senior divisions.
